Visiting 5th grade with Eric B.

Eric and I rocked at being the teachers and figuring out story problems in math.
Eric and his buddy even found a place that made me feel right at home.  Although, I still prefer visiting the Pioneer classrooms and learning with all the great Pioneer students.
Maddox and Eric and I are showing our Pioneer Pride!

Jesse's Week in Kindergarten

Hi Pioneer Friends!  I had a great time in kindergarten!  I had the chance to play in the pumpkin patch with some of my new kindergarten friends.  Can you believe they charged me $100 for one pumpkin?

It was also fire safety week and I rode the bus to the fire station!

We learned many fire safety tips from the fire fighters!
1.  Check Smoke Detectors
2.  Don't Play with Matches, Lighters, or Fire
3.  Stay Low and Go
4.  Make a Plan
I had a blast being a Junior Firefighter!

June 3, 2013
WOW!  Johnny is a lucky boy today.  First, it is his 12th birthday, its the last week of school AND he gets chosen to hang out with me for the week!  Oh, and lucky me-I got a birthday cupcake.  YUM!

It wasn't all fun and games though.  I did have to do some math.  Fortunately, the fifth graders helped me out.  I certainly have learned a lot this year with all my friends at Pioneer School.

A Busy Week in Room 216 with My Friend Pacey

I got to go to the Intermediate Choir Concert with my friend Pacey on Tuesday!  We had fun! The 4th and 5th graders did a really nice job.  I can tell Miss Lubinski worked hard to get ready for the show...she is such a good music teacher!

What a week!  I took two MAPS tests with the other kids! I took my time and am pretty sure I got some really good scores.  Mrs. Vitrano promised to tell my parents that I was a hard worker!

I helped the kids with their Mother's Day projects.  My paws might be a little sticky from gluing, gluing, gluing.

Week with Charlie in Room 2-C

Hi Pioneer Friends!
I had a blast with Charlie this week.  I learned a lot about Poetry!  The students sure wrote a lot of different kinds of poems this week--I could hardly keep up!  They wrote super sweet poems about things like:  Rain, Tornadoes, Storms, Animals, Places, and so much more!
And...  my, oh my, is that Multiplication and Division stuff hard in math!  But the students seemed to catch on to it pretty fast.  They are sooooooo smart!
Well, with all of that hard work going on, I got REALLY super duper hungry.  I found the secret stash of snacks, so I helped myself to the Chex Mix.  I might have also had a little taste of Mrs. Conradt's coffee.
To top it off, I got to play a card game with Charlie.  I won.....but I think he let me!

Two ice cream sundaes for Jag!

There are so many good books in the Pioneer library.

Jag is working hard on Type to Learn.

It was an exciting week with Sara in 4E. I was able to participate in a lot of fun things! My favorite part was all of the extra attention I received from Sara and her friends. They sure learn a lot in fourth grade! They started a fraction unit in math and learned a lot about the Titanic in reading class. I can't wait to see how their newscasts turn out. The ice cream sundae and the dance party for the behavior incentive rocked! This class sure can dance! Sara showed me some of her best dance moves and I showed her a few of mine too. Type to Learn was pretty tricky for me with these big paws, but I was glad that I didn't have to use the keyboard cover like everyone else! Thank you, Sara for making this a great week!

Jags is listening to our class stories!

Jags is reading with Nick!

Jag has been very busy with Nick M. this week.  He enjoyed his time reading during our very first Book It and Bag It.  His favorite book to read was about the Green Bay Packers. He had to borrow Nick's glasses to read, but it all worked out good.  Jag also loved listening to everyone in Mrs. Amenson's class share their narrative stories.  He couldn't believe the suspense.  It has been a wonderful week with Jags, and we hope he comes back to visit soon!

Jag enjoyed a week of celebrating Dr. Seuss with The Jaguar Class.   He even got to eat green eggs
and ham with us.  He loved them!

Dr. Seuss!

It has been a fantastic week hanging out in 5V!  I got the chance to work on memoirs.  Did you know that the fifth graders are going to become published authors with a hardcover book and everything?!  That is just the coolest!  I also learned about space by playing a Jeopardy! review game; what a fun way to prepare for a test!  The fifth graders started a new math unit about long division.  Woah, is that some hard stuff; especially when there is a two-digit divisor!  The week ended with a celebration of Dr. Seuss.  I found a little time to hang out with some of my Seuss friends and read The Cat in the Hat.  It has been a great week in fifth grade.

Monday, February 25, 2013

Well, I am back in fifth grade again this week!  My morning started out with a D.A.R.E. lesson.  The fifth graders are learning about some pretty serious information.  I think it is great that they are learning ways to handle peer pressure and how to say "NO" to drugs and alcohol.  I can't wait to see what the rest of the week has in store!

February 18, 2013
Wow!  Fifth graders work hard.  I am learning about everything from George Washington to outer space.  Here I am reading about life in colonial times.  It was interesting, but I think I am happy that I live in the present times.  Life was hard back then!

I took a break from schoolwork to relax and watch the fish swimming.  I promise I didn't try to eat any of them.

Wow! I got my very first valentine from Kadence, the 3rd grade student that was lucky enough to have me this week. She even wrote me a poem - "Roses are red, violets are blue, you are sweet and I like you." It's amazing how kind kids at Pioneer School are!

B-day party with Jag

Hi again! It's me Jag. Last week I was lucky enough to visit mr Marcks fifth grade class. In Mr. Marcks class, I got to sing happy birthday to a student who was turning eleven! Soon you kindergarteners will be in fifth grade and turning eleven too. I also got to pass out birthday treats to a class. When it's your birthday do you bring in a treat? One last thing that I did was play kickball! Me Jag playing first and second and third base and I even got to be pitcher. See you soon!

Jag was in Kindergarten!

Last week, I spent some time in Miss Treml's Kindergarten Class.  I loved reading books in kindergarten!  The kindergartners thought it was funny that I was reading a new book every time they walked into the classroom.  There were so many good books to read in such a short time!!  Animals Should Definitely Not Wear Clothes was the most intriguing story.

While I was visiting, the kindergartners did a fantastic job creating a story titled Snow Falls.  Here is the story for you to enjoy!
